REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS – PARENTS PLEASE READ AND
FOLLOW PRECISELY.
- Read through your program descriptions checking for appropriate
age, dates and skill and activity levels.
- Read the Parent/Student Handbook
or by calling us at 603-835-9087.
- On a separate sheet of paper, have your child
answer the questions below in his/her own words, preferably handwritten.
If appropriate, feel free to have your child dictate the answers
for someone else to write. These questions allow us to make sure
students have signed up for the appropriate program. It is important
for students to answer these questions to the best of their ability,
truly from their heart. These are NOT questions for parents! Returning
3rd year students and Students of Day School Programs are waived
from this application process. The answers to these questions should
be sent in with the Registration

AFFORDING KROKA
Kroka Expeditions is committed to allowing participation for everyone,
regardless of income. It is important for us to communicate to you
that this commitment requires a sacrifice from everyone in the Kroka
community: lower salaries, long hours, foregoing common benefits,
and uncounted volunteer hours are some of the things we do to allow
everyone into the program. This is so important to us. It is essential
for the
well being of Kroka that every family consciously pays as much as
they can.
- SLIDING SCALE FEE: Open to everyone. This is
an honor-based form of financial aid.
- PAYMENT PLANS: Payment plans can be arranged
by calling our office at 603-835-9087.
- SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarship applications should
be completed and mailed in with your registration form and must
be accompanied by a $100 deposit. Applications are available online
at www.kroka.org or by calling us at 603-835-9087. Eligibility is
based on income and family circumstances. Your deposit will be refunded
if you are not satisfied with your scholarship amount. Scholarship
application deadline is April 1, and all scholarship decisions will
be made by April 30.
- PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OTHERS : Kroka Expeditions
was founded on the important principle of serving children and families
regardless of income. In the summer of 2007, we contributed over
$64,500 in financial aid to families. In the spirit of supporting
Kroka’s mission we ask you to make a tax-deductible donation
to our scholarship fund. All the money in our scholarship fund offsets
the tuition reductions on our sliding scale fee and provides financial
aid that is needed by families beyond the sliding scale. Again,
all donations to the scholarship fund are fully tax-deductible.
Thank you!
POLICIES
CANCELLATION POLICY: Your deposit is non refundable
(unless you are not satisfied with the scholarship amount). Any tuition
payments made beyond the deposit, will be refunded, only when cancellation
occurs prior to April 1st. In some cases, such as cancellation due
to unexpected injury, tuition may be credited toward the following
year.
REFUNDS: There are no refunds issued for students
dismissed from the program due to illness or disciplinary reasons,
or for students who choose to withdraw early from the program already
in session. If a student must leave due to an injury incurred while
on the program, a prorated portion of the tuition will be refunded.
Kroka Expeditions does not discriminate on the
basis of gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religion or national
origin.

Handbook and Student Contract
(for students age 13+ only) before applying. They

- Please remember that top physical fitness is rarely a requirement
for our programs. It is important to honestly and comfortably accept
your present fitness level and to welcome new challenges. Mental
discipline, hard work, compassion, and a willingness to push your
limits are much more important than big muscles.
HOW MANY PROGRAMS SHOULD I COME FOR IN ONE SUMMER?
The majority of our students come for one or two programs each summer
and stay with Kroka for up to six weeks. If you are considering more
than one program, please contact us for suggestions on which combinations
will work best and to arrange your stay between sessions.
MATERIALS FEE: Some programs will incur a small
extra fee for project materials, such as paddle and moccasin making.
