  • Welcome to Kroka Expeditions!

Kroka Expeditions makes it easy for you to provide a great experience for your students. Since 1996, Kroka Expeditions has provided unique day and overnight programs to meet the needs of schoolteachers and their students. As long-time classroom teachers, we understand the need for students to have meaningful outdoor experiences. We also understand that teachers have very limited time and resources to plan and prepare for such trips. Our specialty is designing programs to fit the unique needs of each class or group.

All of our programs combine fun-filled adventure with reflective immersion in the natural world. Kroka's curriculum is among the best in the nation -- the result of decades of research and experience. With Kroka Expeditions, your students will learn how to trust themselves and each other. They will need to work together as a supportive team, push their limits and they will accomplish things they never dreamed possible. Students will bring back lifelong skills of navigating a fast current, climbing a cliff or using a map and compass and, most importantly, living harmoniously with the land. Every Kroka program includes sharing circles, communal meals and discussions on how to bring newfound skills back to everyday life.

Our trips are designed and guided by skilled and experienced outdoor professionals. Our safety management practices are of the highest caliber, as is reflected in our excellent safety record. Kroka Expeditions was honored to receive the "2000 Vermont Guide of the Year Award" and continues to be praised by parents, students and teachers alike. Feel free to call some fellow teachers from our enclosed reference list to talk about their experience with us.

After looking over the offerings in this brochure feel free to call any of our references listed on the back of this letter. In addition, call us and we will be happy to discuss your specific needs, send you a video of our unique programs or arrange a personal visit to your school. Whether you are looking for a fall field trip, a winter wilderness experience, an end-of-year expedition or a weekend outing, we can design a meaningful, fun, challenging and educational program specifically for you and your students.

Hope to meet you on the trail!
