Staff News

Thomas, Marcea, Michael and Mathias teamed up to create and be the very first teachers for the Vermont Ecuador Semester program that begins in September of 2007. In the meantime Thomas and Marcea are crossing the Sahara Desert on a camel (or something of that sort in Africa), while Michael is exploring in New Zealand. Mathias is working at home, on Pelugo Farm, guiding tourists on local volcanos and is planning on traveling to Cuba this winter.

Chris and Ashirah are excitedly expecting their first child due this spring! Chris has gone back to college and is studying things that he is hoping to incorporate into the Vermont Semester. Being back in traditional academia makes Chris all the more certain that we are on the right track with programs like VSP and VESP.

Lynne, Misha and their children have just returned from a two week canoeing vacation on the Suwanee River in Northern Florida. They did not see any alligators this time. They dove into crystal springs, saw wild boars, egrets and turtles, caught fish, sun bathed and rested in the company of friends.

Johanna Gardner has graduated from Mount Holyoke College and is working as a French teacher at The Grammar School in Putney, VT.

Jamie Coulter is teaching five yoga classes per week, incorporating spiritual philosophy of yoga into his life and work. Jamie converted his 1990 Dodge pick up to run on used vegetable oil. Jamie and his wife Tonya are expecting their second baby in the spring.
