Kroka Sustainability Outreach
Program For Your School

By Chris and Ashirah Knapp

We are putting together an outreach program focused on sustainability. The program’s goal is to get people excited about the earth on which they live, by exposing them to concrete and practical ways in which they can use local resources and practice sustainability.

With examples of handmade tools and craft work, as well as photos of our Gamme, log cabin, root cellar, outdoor kitchen and gardens, we will teach about combining native skills, folk arts, and modern technologies in the pursuit of sustainable living. The presentations will be 1 – 1.5 hours long and may include a bow drill fire demonstration and a chance for students to make their own string from tree bark! During the last two weeks in February we will be traveling to schools.

Would you like this program to happen at your high school or in your community? We need Kroka friends and students to talk with their schools and help us to schedule this program. Contact us for the Sustainability Outreach Program brochure and more information.
