News from the Office

Good Bye, Annie!
Annie Guion, our Director of Operations for the past two years, has moved on to join the Meeting Waters YMCA. During her time at Kroka Annie made great contributions to the efficiency of all of the operating systems. She changed our food supplying system to include much local food directly from the farms and made our camp store run smoothly. She has supported all of us before, during and after the programs, baring all of the logistical details. We thank Annie for her work and wish her good luck in her journey.

Welcome, Katrina!
Katrina Wilson, our neighbor from across the Smith Brook has joined Kroka as our Business Manager. Katrina, is a native of Vernon, VT. She is the mother of Marina (1), Hannah (8) and Geonna (10). Katrina brings to Kroka much needed accounting and finance expertise. We now have a real operating budget and monthly budget meetings. One of Katrina’s tasks in her first year is to organize and tighten our finances so the growing school will continue to stand strong on its own two feet, while relying on tuition as its primary source of income.

Welcome Mara!
Mara Golfman, Misha’s mom has retired from her job as a mechanical engineer in Boston and joined the Kroka staff as a volunteer office assistant for two days a week. Mara and Misha’s dad Joseph now come to Vermont each week. While Mara is busy in the office, Joseph stacks up the firewood, shovels the snow and takes care of the grandchildren.
