Meet Lisl Hofer

Lisl Hofer was born and raised in a small village in the Austrian Alps. As the daughter of a forester/wildlife manager she had many chances to develop her ongoing love for nature. She became an avid downhill as well as x-country skier, and enjoyed hiking, mountaineering and climbing in the Alps. After receiving her teaching degree form the University of Innsbruck she taught in public elementary and high schools. She also was involved with the Austrian Alpine Club as a youth leader.

In 1985 Lisl moved to the United States. She discovered Waldorf Education and is now a trained Waldorf teacher. She has been teaching at the Kimberton Waldorf School since 1993. During her time at Kimberton she helped implement an outdoor Main Lesson curriculum for the High School. Both her children graduated from Kimberton Waldorf School. Her son Stefan was a participant of the first Kroka Semester Program in 2004 and has joined Kroka’s teaching staff after graduating in 2005.
