THE VERMONT SEMESTER

DREAMS DO COME TRUE!
All seven semester students completed the six hundred mile journey by ski and canoe. On the way they brightened the lives of countless people, and discovered new light and strength inside themselves. Thank you to our sponsors, teachers, lay-over hosts, semester families, and all of you who helped along the way. You can read the groups reports on the website.

Chris and Ashirah Knapp, who led the canoe portion of the 2004 pilot program, are already at work, together with Misha, preparing for the 2006 Semester. Chris and Ashirah will be lead teachers. Applications are already coming in, and we haven’t even mailed the brochure yet! If you know a student who might be right for the program, call or email the office to request a brochure.

We have an amazing slide show presentation on the Vermont Semester. We’d love to visit your school or community and share the story of how we made the journey to Canada and back without ever using a car! A CD of Vermont Public Radio’s two reports on the semester is also available.
