Our eighth year was a fantastically busy one here at Kroka. When the summer season drew to a close, Lynne and I realized once again that our longawaited family vacation would have to wait yet another year. New initiatives at Kroka are occupying us fully, yet it is clear that it is the right time for being busy: There is a lot of work to be done to make this world a better place.

Read on to see the daunting list of things we set out to work on about this time last year, and to savor all that has been accomplished! Great work was completed in all of the key areas of Kroka’s development: embracing the Waldorf educational philosophy, base camp improvements, and great strides in program development. The articles on the following pages highlight those important steps, and note some of the next steps we will be embarking upon.We want to thank each and every one of you who helped to make it all possible. From those who sent donations and much-needed items from the wish list, to those who put in a hard day’s labor on projects, and all of you who played a part in supporting Kroka’s efforts to make this another year of treasured memories and life-changing experiences for hundreds of young people.

Thank you.
