FAMILY WHITE WATER RAFTING TRIP AND SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER
Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25, 2004
For eight years local and not-so-local families have been
coming to the West River with Kroka during the last weekends
in September and April for an exciting rafting trip. TheClass III–IV upper river is a true challenge, complete with a half-mile carry down the face of the Ball Mountain dam. The lower run, from Jamaica to the Townshend dam, is a great family trip and is appropriate for all ages from little ones to grandparents. In the fall of 2003, this community event became a fundraiser. All of the money received goes directly to Kroka’s summer scholarship fund. Kroka teachers donate their work as guides and we encourage you and your family to join us for an unforgettable day on the river while supporting a good cause!
Cost: All proceeds to go to summer Scholarship Fund.
Minimum Suggested Donation: $30/person, $20 for additional children beyond first child.

MAY DAY AT CAMP! WORK DAY AND OPEN HOUSE
Saturday, May 1
Rain date: Sunday, May 2
Celebrate International Workers Day with good work and fun at Trollhaugen Farm for Kroka’s annual spring workday event. Spend a day clearing trails, planting the garden with vegetables and flowers, setting up summer camps and shaking camp awake from its winter hibernation! Kroka Teachers will lead work crews, and there is plenty to be done. Come for the whole day or just a few hours. Please call the Kroka office to pre-register. We will assign you to a work crew based on your skills, let you know what tools and materials to bring, and let crew leaders know how many people to expect. Bring children and grandparents – everyone can make a contribution. Campfire lunch and snacks will be provided. Everyone is welcome to stay overnight at camp for songs around the campfire (bring your own dinner and camping gear, or request to borrow equipment when you call to register). On Sunday, explore the land, or borrow a canoe or raft for a paddle on the West River.
