Our Farm  


We seek a sumer office intern to assist in all aspects of administrative and facilities management during Kroka's busy summer season. This is a perfect opportunity for a local high school or college student to learn about administrative and communication systems, work with staff, students and families, and live in a robust intentional community of exceptional young people. This position requires maturity, patience, attention-to-detail, and good communication skills.
Schedule: Full time (residing on campus) from 8:00 AM Friday morning through 6:00 PM Monday evening.
Summer season: June 16 - August 20


Program Administration
  • Telephone and email communications with parents and students (reminder phone calls)
  • Registration: greeting families and receiving paperwork and payments
  • Program support: managing small items for students such as t-shirts and personal supplies
  • Photography: taking, receiving, and processing images from programs
  • Lost and Found: managing lost and found items to be sent back to families
  • Activity Support: occasionally supporting teachers with on-campus activities for young children
Camp Store & Facilities Management
  • Support our facilities manager in farmhouse maintenance: cleaning, organizing, landscaping & small repairs
  • Help with the camp store during busy periods: organize inventory, make sales
  • Support food manager with food logistics and meal preparation.
Technology Skills
(will be taught)
  • Word Processing: using Microsoft Word and Adobe Indesign for writing simple documents, creating signs & posters
  • Graphic Design: Using Adobe Creative Suite to edit images and create signs and posters
  • Image Processing: Using Adobe Photoshop to edit and publish digital images.
  • Web Publishing: Making small edits to the Kroka website.
  • Database: Data entry of names and addresses
Community living
  • Sharing a canvas wall tent set amidst the Kroka staff village
  • Developing personal living habits in harmony with the natural world
  • Opportunity to participate in paddling, climbing, hiking, and other adventure and wilderness skills training with Kroka guides
Stipend and benefits In addition to a stipend of $100 - $200 per week (depending on age & experience), interns receive delicious meals and primitive housing on the Kroka campus, and invaluable training and educational experiences.
